Arturia announced MiniFreak 49 on 20 October, expanding its six-voice hybrid synthesizer into a larger keyboard format.
More space to play and shape a patch
The announcement lists 49 full-size semi-weighted keys, a pressure-sensitive XYZ touch matrix and dedicated engine controls. Audio-rate filter FM and voice panning extend the sound-design options, while the two digital engines retain per-voice analogue filtering.
A hardware decision, not just a longer keyboard
The change is particularly relevant if you play two-handed parts or want to move several sound parameters during a performance. Consider your desk space and existing controller before deciding whether the larger format suits your studio. These are questions raised by the announcement, not findings from a hands-on review.
