The Orb uses formant filtering to introduce voice-like spectral shapes into incoming audio.
What does it do?
AudioThing’s processor uses three band-pass filters with vowel sets and modulation. Separate LFO destinations can move the vowel, emphasis and drift, creating evolving articulations. It is an effect for treating audio you supply, rather than a replacement for a recorded voice or a conventional vocal instrument.
The key features
- Three formant-filter bands
- Several vowel sets
- Three modulation LFOs
Who is it worth considering for?
Sound designers adding vocal-like motion to synths, loops and textures.
